Sporf
Roles: Writer/Director/Animator/D.O.P
Sporf is a short stop-motion animation film exploring what it would be like to have an adult, drug centred episode of Morph. The short works as an effective parody of the kids show format through the lens of Morph. Fast pacing, cute character and minimal set combine to keep younger audiences focused on the plot which in this example would not be suitable for under 12s maybe 15s. Many more adult films are referenced throughout like Requiem for a Dream (Darren Aronofsky) and Trainspotting (Danny Boyle) two of my favourite drug/addiction related films. I’m a big fan of satire and parody in general and definitely want to continue to explore it more in future work, perhaps with more of the subtlety you’d see in Dr Strangelove (Stanley Kubrick) or Parasite (Bong Joon-Ho) rather than Robin Hood: Men in Tights (Mel Brooks) which I took from here.
